What we do
When your car will not start, the cause could be anything from a flat battery to a failed starter motor, a faulty alternator, a fuel system problem, or an electrical gremlin. The frustrating part is not knowing which one it is. That is where your Recovery Hero comes in.
We carry diagnostic equipment that reads fault codes from your vehicle's computer, along with the tools and common parts needed to fix many issues at the roadside. Starter motors, alternators, sensors, fuses — if it is a common failure, there is a good chance we have the part in the van and can fit it right there.
If the problem is more serious and needs a workshop, we will give you an honest assessment of what is wrong, what it is likely to cost to fix, and recover your vehicle to a garage of your choice. No guesswork, no upselling, just straight answers from someone who knows what they are looking at.
Common reasons a car will not start
Engine cranks but will not fire
The starter motor is turning but the engine will not catch. This often points to a fuel or ignition issue.
No crank at all
You turn the key and nothing happens. Could be the battery, starter motor, or an electrical fault.
Engine cuts out while driving
The engine dies suddenly or stalls at junctions. This needs diagnosing before you drive any further.
Warning lights on the dashboard
Engine management light, check engine, or other warnings can prevent the car from starting or running properly.
Immobiliser fault
Your car thinks the wrong key is being used and will not allow the engine to start. A frustrating but fixable problem.
Fuel pump failure
If the fuel pump has failed, fuel is not reaching the engine. You may notice a whining noise or complete silence when turning the key.
