Getting started
Do I need a membership to use Recovery Heroes?
No. We work on a pay-per-rescue basis. There are no monthly fees, annual subscriptions, or contracts. You call us when you need us, and that is it.
How do I request a rescue?
You can book online through our website or call us on 0800-XXX-XXXX. Tell us where you are, what has happened, and we will dispatch the nearest available hero.
How quickly will someone arrive?
Our average response time is around 30 minutes. During peak times or in remote areas it may take a little longer. We will always give you an honest estimate when you book, and keep you updated if anything changes.
What areas do you cover?
We currently cover Greater Manchester and are actively expanding across the UK. Enter your postcode on the homepage to check if we have heroes in your area.
Pricing
How much does breakdown recovery cost?
Pricing depends on the type of rescue, the time of day, and what work is needed. We always give you a clear price before dispatching a hero. There are no hidden charges or surprise fees.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
We charge a flat rescue fee that covers the hero coming to your location. Any additional work like tyre fitting or battery replacement is quoted separately before we proceed.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major debit and credit cards. Payment can be taken over the phone or at the roadside.
Services
What vehicles do you cover?
Cars, vans, motorcycles, SUVs, and light commercial vehicles. If you have a larger vehicle or something unusual, give us a call and we will see what we can arrange.
Can you fix my car at the roadside?
In many cases, yes. Our heroes carry common parts and tools for flat tyres, dead batteries, lockouts, and basic electrical faults. If a roadside repair is not possible, we will tow you to a garage.
I put the wrong fuel in. What should I do?
Do not start the engine. Call us immediately. We can drain the contaminated fuel, flush the system, and refuel your vehicle on the spot in most cases.
Can you tow my car long distance?
Yes. We offer local and long-distance towing on flatbed recovery trucks. Your vehicle is secured and transported without any additional wear. Get in touch for a quote.
What if I am locked out of my car?
Our heroes use specialist non-destructive entry tools to get you back into your vehicle without damage. This works on most makes and models.
Safety and insurance
Are your recovery operators insured?
Yes. Every Recovery Heroes operator carries full public liability insurance and goods-in-transit cover. Your vehicle is protected while it is in our care.
What should I do while I wait for a hero?
If you are on a motorway or fast road, get behind the barrier if possible. Turn on your hazard lights. If you are in a safe location, stay with your vehicle. We will call you with an estimated arrival time.
What if someone is injured?
Call 999 first. Once the emergency services are on their way, you can call us to arrange vehicle recovery. Your safety always comes first.
Booking and scheduling
Can I book a non-emergency recovery in advance?
Yes. If you need a vehicle collected, transported, or taken to a garage and it is not urgent, you can schedule a recovery at a time that works for you.
Can I cancel a booking?
If a hero has not yet been dispatched, you can cancel at no charge. Once a hero is en route, a cancellation fee may apply.
Do you operate on bank holidays?
Yes. We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, including all bank holidays and over Christmas. Breakdowns do not take days off, and neither do we.
